Looks like a duck: preclinical lab data showing “cure” in AML rat model, Dr. Lane sits with Dr. S at a major heme meeting several years ago to discuss
Quacks like a duck: Drs. Bruedigam/Lane have an important paper published that makes a major contribution to the understanding of ferroptosis (Future Plenary session material).
It’s a duck!: IMpress study stops recruiting at half the anticipated enrollment. Study timeline extended (improved OS?) Short PR piece from QIMR indicating promising results from IMpress. Nice Australian lady with presumed AML in the study is bubbly, grateful, has good color and is doing well.
What’s next? Ducklings! (PIII single agent study, hat tip to HI for pointing in this direction), Long anticipated combination studies in adults, and peds (next month).

Re: Ode to a Duck
I sent an email to Geron PR - they won’t give me the answer but might prod them to make a public disclosure
Re: Ode to a Duck
I would think halting a trial or pausing a trial would be a material event that would require disclosure.
Re: Ode to a Duck
Assuming most who read this conjecture have a similar reaction… Quack quack.

Re: Ode to a Duck
Since its not a company sponsored trial I am not sure if the primary investigator is required to provide information as to a status change within a specific timeline.
Re: Ode to a Duck
It would be in Geron's best interest to divulge positive or negative information, and I'm SURE their legal department feels the same way.
Re: Ode to a Duck
Geron Corporation granted non-statutory stock options as inducements to newly hired employees last week. Specifically, they issued options to purchase an aggregate of 222,660 shares of Geron common stock. These options were granted on June 19, 2024, with an exercise price of $4.49 per share—matching the closing price of Geron stock on that date. The options have a 10-year term and vest over four years.
Duck still quacking.
