Well clearly not too IMpress(ive). Combination studies started. Basic science (Dr. Bruedigam) studies promising. We will have to use our IMagination.

Very disappointing after the news report we saw in Australia

RC, that “news” was deliberately devoid of any data or meaningful information. It was an unfortunate PR fluff that in my opinion took advantage of a very nice patient who was happy with her care. Recall that Dr. Lane sat on a panel perhaps 8 or so years ago with Dr. Scarlett to talk about impressive mouse data. I wrote to him about it but he never had the courtesy to return my letters. He has been MIA re Geron presentations but has been a coauthor on articles that continue Geron research.

I wouldn’t say all is lost here by any stretch.
This is a Phase I safety trial. The trial is showing no additional adverse effects from the current safety profile of Imet.
The dosage interval was extremely conservative, once a month, which makes sense for this patient cohort that has a variety of health issues at this juncture. They are weakened.
Dosage has been increased to once every two weeks. So trial marches on and hopefully the next patient cohort sees efficacy signs with double the dosage per month.
All would be lost if the investigators ended the trial… this is not the case.

I agree it’s definitely about setting the stage for combinations.
