We all have become accustomed to the manipulation of words, innuendo and rumor when it comes to the stock market and perhaps Geron to some extent. This takes the cake and was posted under Yahoo AI under why is Geron moving today?:

Why is GERN moving today?
Geron Corporation (GERN) fell 6.29% after disappointing clinical trial results for its lead drug, while the healthcare sector declined only 0.6%.

There has been no new data released that I can find relating to Geron or recent clinical trial disappointments. I call B.S.

Here’s the whole thing:

Geron Corporation (GERN) fell 6.29% after disappointing clinical trial results for its lead drug, while the healthcare sector declined only 0.6%.
Market context: Despite GERN's decline, the broader healthcare sector fell 0.6% and the S&P 500 dropped 0.36%, indicating a general market weakness.
Clinical trial disappointment: Investors reacted negatively to the latest clinical trial results for GERN's lead drug, raising concerns about its future prospects.
Geron's significant drop highlights the impact of specific clinical setbacks, contrasting with a relatively stable healthcare market.

Dated today! The manipulators have found a new way to bottom feed.

In the event that this ill informed distortion was referring to the update of the Rux/Imetelstat study from Mount Sinai (Tisch), maybe I am in the minority but I thought the modifications to the study were very positive: 1. More patients can get it since it allows a lower platelet court on initiation, not clear to me from recent update if platelet count requirement may have been dropped 2. It simplifies the JAK inhibitor to just one (the one that is off or will be off patent protections), 3. It reduces the number of patients in the study so combining #2 and #3 means it will take less time. 4. Preliminary data presented previously showed some reductions in VAFs. As a reminder, this study looks at patients way earlier in the course of the disease than those in IMpact which requires relapsed/refractor patients. 5. It emphasizes time to AML as an important endpoint. 6. It requires a higher symptom score >3 which mean assessment of effect on TSS will be easier. (Group A required symptoms >1, a little more than “barely there” making assessment of effect on TSS much more difficult).

Forgot to mention also, the study advanced from 1a to 1b status.

It seems Yahoo would bear some litigation risk/exposure for posting inaccurate information.... especially when the information is of material importance to a publicly traded security. Someone should do a screen capture of the yahoo finance page and send it off to the class action attorney(s) who most recently negotiated a settlement with Geron management.

HI, much as I would like to see some assumption of responsibility by Yahoo and others, maybe they need only plead that it was an AI hallucination!

Geron Corporation (GERN) fell 7% after disappointing trial results for its lead cancer drug, significantly underperforming the healthcare sector's minor decline of 0.38%
Market context: While the broader healthcare sector dipped 0.38% and the S&P 500 fell 0.24%, GERN's drop highlights specific issues impacting the company
Disappointing trial results: Investors reacteo negatively to the latest data from the clinical trial of its lead drug, raising concerns about its future prospects.

The bottom line says it all. One has to wonder if this is a genuine "mistake", or if it's actually part of an intentional effort to suppress Geron's stock price.

Law101 will teach you that you can’t contract away negligence. A reputable & widely followed site such as Yahoo Finance has a duty to fact check the information it makes publicly available… especially when it’s organically generated. Again, I encourage someone to do a screen grab showing the inaccurate & harmful information along with the date and impact on the stock price. This should be useful info if the company and/or investors wish to pursue damages from Yahoo and its parent company.

Certainly pretty shady, but was taken down. Stock back up in overnight hours. Dime up, dime down it’s all noise as we observe if Harout is able to deliver as forecasted. I’d bet most on this board are confident in him at this point.

As always, time will tell.
