You can always tell the pioneer

You can always tell the pioneer because he is the one with the arrow in his back. Early adopters are the ones who champion new therapies. Average docs will wait to see the experience of others, fearful of attorneys or some other backlash. Or insurance company push back and the inconvenience of the fights that experience entails. Wild predictions of early adoptions helps no one. Patient and physician testimonials help. Where are they? The PIII MF study is taking a long time because patients are living a long time. Draw your own conclusions. New management team does not demonstrate fire. Where are the updates on the oral agents? Where are Dr. B’s study results? Every and I mean every year around this time the stock looks terrible and every year by the May meeting Scarlett performs some Jedi magic to make everything look better. I think we are all tiring and need to see some fire. bp

Thanks for the post / insights. I mentioned the May magic in my screed. But really this isn’t a drill anymore… they are in-market, made hires who we all lauded for their experience, and now need to prove that they can do what a global biopharma can…
They flatly stated yesterday that “the drug works”. They also got the beginnings of yet another lawsuit against yesterday (search Pomeranz).
The Jedi May magic will be pretty crucial this year as we all (from us plebs all the way up to the top) yearn to “sail off into the sunset”…

ANGER! That's what I'm seeing in our usually cordial Imetelchat. Unprecedented anger. That's what leads to lawsuits and dumb decisions.
I expect a gradual share price rise and then a big announcement. Or am I still Gerondreaming as I have for over 25 years?

I’m not seeing anything in today’s 8-K that would portend true disaster. Fundamentals truly do seem intact, but the ride from $5.00+ to $1.60 worse than any roller coaster I’ve ever rode…
I was under the illusion we were in the catbird seat, but now it is clear that global BPs never lost there perch in the catbird seat … they can have it, cheap - I’ll take the dividend and the competent management / sales teams.

I think Dr Scarlett has consistently said approval in first half of 2025. Never heard him say 67 days after CHMP or whatever. So no alarm there other than everyone again reading the regs but of course not in the know. Obviously there are exceptions to every rule but not allowed I guess if it's Geron. Hmmm.
The flattening of patients / revenue is a concern, partly a growing pain issue which was recognized during the holidays. The holidays are a seasonal issue for oncology pharmas which is understandable. They seemed to have also lost momentum as a result and are scrambling to get that straightened out. Should have done a better job but not criminal or a sign of anything uncorrectable and should get fixed quickly and I think JS is fired up to get this on track.
There was angst going into earnings and an intentional effort over the last few months to take the stock down while inflating expectations giving us the perfect storm. The boards played a role maybe only as lackeys but nevertheless. So we have been taken to the woodshed for sure but blaming everything on Geron is ridiculous.
I'm not going anywhere just kicking myself for again missing the obvious debacle and related opportunity.

You are right Huntington, I personally will get off the blame game train. The MF trial projections and communication (2028!) has been atrocious though, I’m not backing off that.
And there still is a clear distinction between a global biopharma organization, power dynamic and skills to take a drug to market and an independent trying to go it alone.
Also, one last post-script: maybe the Jedi Magic for May will be us all dialing in to a different organizations shareholder meeting

Why wasn’t Geron sold to the highest bidder post FDA approval? Future indications? Asking price too high?
BP knows they can drag the SP down due to the high float and run Dr. Scarlett out of poker chips to play in the imetelstat ownership tourney.
It ain’t easy battling BP, and it ain’t just Blackrock that’s holding pocket aces before the flop. A 3% win today is a 5% tank tomorrow, and everyone here is well aware that management can’t do a d*mn thing about it.
That straight flush draw on the river might be coming. Is Dr. Scarlett willing to fold his hand, muck his cards, and give the pot away this late in the game? Would you, knowing that OS is on the table and will be the biggest pot of your career?

Unfortunately, the past is prologue for Geron, and always has been.
I once asked a relative who happened to be a fortune 50 CEO what he thought the was the best way to pick a stock and he unhestingly said 'insider information'.
Someone has a very inside view of the going-ons at Geron and has had that view for a very long time.
Although much of the downturn for the past three or four months can be attributed to institutions and swing traders there was also a considerable increase in the short position even though there was only good news on the horizon.
I believe a large portion of the downturn was engineered and likely engineered by the same "Aliens" who have haunted this stock for a very long time.
The question is who are they and what do they want? If it is just hedge fund and market maker antics, then 'filling the gap' may have satisfied them.
If it is BP, then we will need a straight flush draw on the river because Scarlett is not going to fold - and neither am I.

I dig this post. Cool!
As always,
cheers

Really some nice truisms here. Points taken and more wait in’…. Let’s see what comes after Europe, which we should have land Ho soon… sail past the rock of Gibraltar and port in Rotterdam and maybe after that we can sail into the sunset …
