interesting - this is what BP alluded to where the FDA took into account the present pandemic in granting the approval to help those patients avoid the hospital and decrease their covid risk - HMA's are not approved in Europe
one thing we have not mentioned besides the limited blood supply is possibly Covid transmission with transfusion - these are patients that will have a high mortality rate with Covid - hopefully this can help tip the scales to approval in Europe

rccola335, Good point about potential transmissibility of virus. Considering that other blood borne diseases like malaria, Chagas, HIV, prions etc can be transmitted, would not be surprised to see cases of COVID as well.
