new Geron patent on 6-thio-dG and other Guanine variants

Geron received a patent on Guanine analogs as telomerase length affectors (e.g., 6-thio-dG). More confirmation that Dr. Shay is right and that 6-thio-dG is the future... does anyone here know how this affects the MAIA IP?
