Hunt, re April update, please see previous posts regarding timing of anticipated study update in April. This is not a surprise. But the following:
"Geron Corporation (GERN) will host a conference call on April 10, 2017, at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time to provide an update on the ongoing imetelstat Phase 2/3 trial in myelodysplastic syndromes and the Phase 2 trial in myelofibrosis," is murky regarding the MF study. Clearly the MDS study is "ongoing" so the news is probably good, perhaps with an opt in announcement. MF harder to parse. I actually think there is a (remote) possibility that the study will stop for efficacy. That's what I am hoping for. Perhaps if not the case, than some recognition for the need to start therapy earlier in the course of the disease will be recognized. Either way there should be some good news to be found. Okay, thanks Biopearl, looks like I have missed something in all the tea leaves. Certainly given the various meetings and conferences coming, the earlier timing makes a lot of sense and not just a means of giving the bad news time to blow over before. Hopefully this will be handled with astute PR as the news could be all good or a mix. Given that the news release could be interpreted as MF not being continued, I hope that will be highlighted as a sign those suffering with MF will soon have Imetelstat approved for them in short order vs another twist in the CT process or a total restart with a move to a new study and nothing beyond the current ODD. These are exciting times to say the least.
