Thanks for posting this RC, it’s not hard to see where this is going. Earlier treatment before transfusion dependence and a better awareness of the role of inflammation impacting concurrent cardiovascular diseases. We have discussed the anti inflammatory effects of Imetelstat several times over the preceding years. The subtext here is that Imetelstat may impact OS, not only by slowing progression and transformation to more malignant forms of myelodysplastic diseases, but also by impacting the co morbidities in other seemingly distant diseases such as cardiovascular diseases.

I think as time goes on raising the hemoglobin 1.5 g with command and not changing how the patient feels will have people reassessing. I think people are going to start to want to modify the disease and they’re going to want to feel better also.

Agree, “hemoglobin” is just a number. These docs clearly want their patients to feel better too, not to mention live longer, not just have better labs.

Happy Groundhog Day

It appears to me that March 14th will be the first day of Spring for Imetelstat (41 days from today). Everyone is still a bit apprehensive about the outcome, with words such as "shenanigans" being introduced into the conversation. Unless the 'sky falls down', Imetelstat is soon to be recommended by ODAC, and approved by the FDA.

Note: One of the most important features of Imetelstat is the very positive "fatigue-factor" --- that is this medicine can make you feel better and improve the quality of life (enjoy life).
