Re: New Board Member
Geron still acting consistently as a successful company that is entertaining a buyout. New hire has good buyout experience.

Re: New Board Member
Yes Jay, it seems that we have a long and fluid catalogue of board members with experience in buy outs. Not too much time left in 2023 for JS to make good on two promises. 1. Acknowledge 50% enrollment in MF study and 2. Update on oral agent progress. Post ASH updates themselves will probably not include anything new. Can only hope Dr. Lane makes some surprise comments but since his group is not presenting any Imetelstat data, this seems unlikely. Hard to know if the glacier is slowly moving forward or slowly melting.

Re: New Board Member
Dr. Aggarwal has been on our radar since the VIVO Capital buy-in.

Not sure why he is no longer employed there, I guess it does allow JS to make this comment in the announcement:
"Dr. Aggarwal will serve as an independent Board member for Geron; his appointment to the Geron Board was not associated with an investment made either by him or by any investment firm."
Seems to be cutting the "independent board member" aspect a little thin but either way I suspect he is a quality addition to the board.

Hunt, Wow, right you are. At least he knows the company.
Re: New Board Member
Looks like Vivo is currently sitting on 26.9M shares of Geron.....up from 22.8M - interesting that they make a point of him being an independent board member? -Kmall

Re: New Board Member
Sorry to be so dense, but what exactly is an "independent board member"? Meaning he is on a different status then the other members?
Isn't that a oxymoron? A board is a unified entity. An independent...is just the opposite.

Re: New Board Member
So to make a statement that he is an independent director seems quite significant as does his recent job with the investment company. Sure smacks of takeover planning to me.
Re: New Board Member
Thanks Biopearl for the "independent" link.
