Could the raise be used to accelerate time to market “when” the FDA grants priority review?

Absolutely... and not to mention the proverbial... dig well BEFORE YOU ARE THIRSTY philosophy.
In this case... having option to raise funds and commercialize our, OUR, own drug (THANK YOU JNJ) is incredibly powerful during negotiations with potential partners.
So as investor we take short term hit on appreciation... but preserve long term value.
