Repost from YMB:

PEDMAC2000, This article highlights something that is in front of everyone's eyes but cannot be seen (the eye can not see what the mind does not know). When the Janssen study was underway there was a high drop out rate. Why? because patients and doctors did not see the promised spleen reduction that was the then gold standard established by Jakifi. (OK some spleen reduction was seen and has been discussed elsewhere). So the drug was stopped for "lack of response". But there was a response. But no one could see it. That is unless they were Obi Wan and could know the unknowable. That they were destined to live longer. No one could have known until the study ran its course. This is what Dr. Hoffman and colleagues are writing about. Just imagine if patients and doctors DID know they would live longer. Imagine what the drop out rate would have been and imagine what the final results could have looked like. Yes. That is what we have here. But only a few can see it. bp
