I think it's clear cut... they haven't been able to recruit enough patients for the trials, and they're behind schedule. They're just making sure that they can cross the finish line on one trial before running out of money.

And it's not $75 million UNLESS they hit their milestones.

I believe Geron is going to restart the old Ast-Vac1 and Vac2 trials
https://cancerletter.com/articles/20170531_11/
they also had the ast-Vac2 trial
https://www.globenewswire.com/news-rele ... ancer.html
the trial for lung cancer might be applied to covid-19
just one mans guess...but if correct a whole new world is about to open up....regardless geron is way over due

Love your hypothesis but Geron sold this on the cheap a long time ago while retaining a small royalty potential.

IMO it's a safety loan. Getting a full recruitment is stalled because of the CV-19 pandemic, and the safety concerns for the potential patients, not for lack of applicants.
If it goes on longer than the optimistic projection (s), funds will be needed to "keep the machine running";
But I yield to those with a deeper understanding of the situation.
IMO, regardless, I think we are looking at a 2023/24 completion date.
