Re: Some thoughts on the conference call, by Sdrawkcabeman
Id guess GERN would have better negotiating prospects if it were a more robust, independent company rather than one all puckered up and waiting for a single suitor. On the other hand, all the patents and IP and Imetelstat and her prospects have a value and that value, and its potential value, is wha...

the question(s) Leviek wanted to ask but wasn't called on to ask, by Leviek
originally posted on Seeking Alpha Geron EPS in-line, beats on revenue -- May 5 2016 by leviek 6 May, 03:18pm Hi Chip and Anna......It was very surprising I was not allowed to ask questions at the CC. Is there a reason? I know and understand Geron better than almost any analyst and my questions, whi...

My thoughts on the conference call - buyout before year end. Here's why, by jimmypiersal
YMB, 6 May 2016 My thoughts on the conference call - buyout before year end. Here's why by jimmypiersal A couple of things on the call: 1. I think Geron picking up any other company is over. Scarlett almost sounded uninterested in the question about that. And with only 20 people on board, they need ...

Re: Of bread crumbs and myeloma
interesting... how do you get around imetelstat lowering blood count, though? or would lowering the dosage and combo'ing solve that rather than Imetelstat being used as a single agent, which (seems) to be both slow acting (unraveling the existing cells) and toxic. and the lenalidomide, Daratumumab o...

Re: AACR
just saw something like that this morning, thanks Fisher. would be nice if after DAC and Imetelstat the disease was cured, but at least patients would have an option on how to treat it. So would those with AML then be on a combo of DAC and Imetelstat for the rest of their lives? It would be one thin...

Mayo Mesa MDS
So, a few hours ago, Taz posted on YMB that Mesa might have come around to treating/advocating/investigating Imetelstat for MDS due to Mayo Scottsdale being newly added to CT...And, someone else further posted that that would be significant as Mesa was negative towards Imetelstat previously...what's...

Re: Shay Wright lab at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
any thoughts?
Not sure if this lab is private, but if it were, maybe Scarlett is referring to it when he discusses acquisitions. Of course, most investors probably hope it is Asterias he wants to buy, but that cat seems out of the bag now and no way going back in.

Shay Wright lab at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
A poster I don't remember encountering before (Cheng_Ho) burst on the YMB scene today, denouncing Geron's 20 year old Telomerase inhibitor as being grossly out of date. And that this lab in Texas has a small molecule inhibitor far superior to Imetelstat that the FDA (everyone's boogeyman) is denying...

Re: A mystery
Fisher was merely giving you advice on how to write a more intelligent sounding post. No need to take offense. Also, the subject line would be better, as Fisher pointed out, if it were more descriptive of an aspect or study regarding Imtelstat than a single word.

Re: Use in CLL
Thanks for the history lesson. I was totally unaware both that Imetelstat had been tried for CLL and that Okarma was a liar. As for my nephew, he is on Gleevec and its been a miracle drug for him. It took some adjustment for his young body to handle, but once he'd been on it for a while, he got used...

Novel Efficient Cell-Penetrating, Peptide-Mediated Strategy for Enhancing Telomerase Inhibitor Oligonucleotides
Key word "strategy" ...could this strategy be used to make Imetelstat stronger?

Meant to ask you, Pearl, about Geron's history with CLL. My nephew, who is only 12, has CLL and it's one of the reasons I follow cancer drug treatments. Can you educate me on what happened with Geron, CLL and why it wasn't a slam dunk after all? thanks in advance.

So how long before Janssen starts recruiting for an AML stage one combo trial? Any chance something like that is given light at AACR?

Could be...meager being relative to MF response. If so, as you said, that would really say a lot about the MF response.

Re: Recent Nature letter
I don't think I'd ever consider transfusion independence a meager response...not after reading what those patients have to go through. More over, transfusions are a stop gap treatment with deminishing returns...prolongs life but doesn't work beyond a few years...from what I understand, anyway.

Re: Recent Nature letter
One other thing, why would Janssen undertake an MDS study if Dr.T, whom they undoubtedly talked to, described the response as meager?
