AML study--not
Coming into the Christmas weekend and looking toward the week between Christmas and New Years it seem unlikely we will see the anticipated AML study details in 2016. JS you go some 'splainin to do. bp

Re: Reading tea leaves and errors of omission
I am hereby officially backing away from my comments of yesterday which I admit were not dispassionate. And I am hearted by the updated website. Note the Dec powerpoint company presentation. Ligas, thanks for your response. Fish, yes Scarlett and Anna probably know be by now but I don't think their ...

Reading tea leaves and errors of omission
So here we are beyond the 24 week mark with the suspended study and patients are continuing to receive drug. Excluding the 4.7 group which has presumable crossed over to a higher dose there can be no doubt that Geron/Janssen have the data they said they wanted in the original 9.4 group. The Clin tri...

Sargasso, in that case we should have been millionaires ten years ago.

Re: Questions I continue to have
Hi everyone, Cheng ho (more correctly Zheng He, our smart Dartmouth scholar) has written a nice and interesting article and does have first hand experience from the Halcyon days of Geron. But at that time nothing could get translated into an effect clinical drug. Let s hope thats changed. Hunts poin...

Re: JnJ/Geron presentations ASH2016 available
Thanks for posting these Fish. Sometimes additional data is provided during the actual presentation, but I didn't see any. So far all I can see is essentially the same message provided previously when the abstracts were released in November. No new bombshells but some implications: 1. I think we can...

Mayo study CT site update
Last patient follow up now scheduled for 2019. Top line data still on for May 2017. This change implies an ongoing longevity effect to me. bp

Re: Take aways from PiperJaffrey 24th Annual Healthcare Conference
Thanks Fish, nice summary. Todays press release from INCY with pooled data to show longevity interesting and I think shows the wisdom of Janssen in targeting Jakafi failures to really highlight the uniqueness of imetelstat in targeting malignant clones. Jakafi will continue to build their brand but ...

Re: Competitive threats to imetelstat
Hi Irish, a hug and a kiss on the cheek from bp, glad John continues to do well. For Sargasso, did find Rova T as a antibody (Stemcentrix) that targets the cancer stem cell in some solid tumors, just FYI. bp

Re: Competitive threats to imetelstat
Fish, nice post. I agree so far no drug apparent that targets the malignant clone. Also to evaluate combination therapy which is undoubtedly down the line will take years so there doesn't seem to be an immediate threat on the horizon and once we get a window on combination therapy it could be a quan...

BS, yes I think Irish's husband John is on 7.5 mg. It is worth noting the Scarlett also discussed CI with symptom improvement in multiple areas thus setting the table of some determination of ORR (overall response rate) data. bp

Looking over the abstracts it is pretty clear that the table is being set for CML and AML combo trials next. It was also clear from Dr. S that 24 week data from MF trial holds high hopes. All good. But I noted the doses used in mice was 15mg/kg and 30 mg/kg respective re above lab experiments. Consi...

Kudos, Fish and thank you. Scarlett said he did not plan a post ASH conference as in the past but that does not rule out that Janssen will and we might get some further info then. Regards, bp

Re: Imetelstat at ASH2016
I am pleased with the preclinical progress reflected in these abstracts. I think the stage is set for a new clinical trial in AML and maybe something in CML. The case for unmet medical needs in MF continues to be made. A late breaker with the MDS data would be nice. As for the MF Janssen study we ju...

Re: Questions for 3 Nov 2016 cc
Great start. I would add: 1. How many patients are alive and on drug from the original pilot study. 2. Since this study continues can any extrapolations regarding longevity be made? 3. Are there plans for use of imetelstat in combination with other medications and for what indications? 4. Can you pr...

I thought they were disasters in that some of the calle...

MF CTrials site updated
The changes we were told to expect from Dr. S with a few minor modification: 2 sites went from not recruiting to withdrawn, one was probably the Sidney Farber, a world renown site (a guess on my part). The patient can elect to remain in the 4.7 arm if they want and investigator agrees. The study now...
