Verstovsek: imetelstat 1 of the 2 hottest new drugs for MF

In this video Dr. Srdan Verstovsek presents about MF and how current therapies fail to cure or to extend life expectancy significantly. From all the new drug developments (such as ACE011, JAK1 inhibitors, LOXL2, Hedgehog inhibitors, PRM151, LCL161, Bcl-xl inhibitors, IL3R, PD1 inhibitors) he mention...

Re: Geron vs Incyte's valuation and Jakafi revenues

Nice, those Jakafi figures. But how do they relate to Geron? For sure Geron will take over Jakafi revenues, but how much and when? What is your opinion about that?

Needham key message's: imetelstat is a transformative drug, AML to start this year

Greg E. (SA) about the Needham presentation: "No hint of any fly in the ointment, and Dr. Scarlett really wanted to get across how the data from the 79 year-old patient shows Imetelstat is having its intended effect on the Malignent Progenitor Cells. To me, it seemed his #1 goal in this talk was to ...

Re: Geron vs Incyte's valuation and Jakafi revenues

btw sargasso: I agree that making a direct comparison between Geron and Incyte is problematic and inexact. So better not try. However, we can learn about the market for MF by looking at the revenues that Incyte created in that market. Hoosier used that information to base his estimations on, as I me...

Re: Geron vs Incyte's valuation and Jakafi revenues

On Seeking Alpha Hoosier has once published a very nice article on the valuation of Geron titled 'What to expect from imetelstat now' (12 Jan 2016). He processed quite some variables and assumptions and created a basis for something that makes sense. Some quotes from that article: Summary - Second-l...

Re: GERN buy-out

JNJ has a license on Geron's IP and Geron is the owner. As long that is the case Geron theoretically should be able to find other partners. They then need to cancel the JNJ license and start a new contract with another company that seeks to buy Geron. I don't know how difficult or easy that will be ...

Maybe for the same reason as why you are long on the Stock? Your quote dd 11 March: "I am long GERN and believe the stock has great potential." Thats says it all, doens't it?

Re: Geron patents

First we should find a good resource. I use to look at FreshPatents: http://stks.freshpatents.com/Geron-Corporation-nm1.php. It goes back to 2009, but I don't know how comprehensive they are. I assume that they list all patents starting from 2009, but I am not sure. We may go through it year by year...

Hi Cheng, good question, To answer it will need a good overview of the patents. I don't have such overview and would hope that together we could establish one. I opened a separate topic on that.

'This Could Be the Next Big Pharma Buyout'

Motley Fool, 3 April 2016, by Brian Feroldi (TMFTypeoh) With each passing year, a handful of the world's best-selling drugs lose patent protection, and when that happens it can blow a hole in the top line of even the largest drugmakers. To help offset the revenue decline, many big pharma companies s...

Geron patents

Geron has worked for many years in silence during times that telomerase inhibition was still in the shadows. That gave them the opportunity to develop this 'diamond in the rough', which JnJ seems to like so much. This 'diamond in the rough' is probably not only just referring to imetelstat. We know ...

Re: Shay Wright lab at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center

It's a remarkable thread, indeed. It is important to know if Geron patents are covering this development. In addition, we don't know what Geron and JnJ are having under the hood themselves regarding imet 2.0. As soon as imetelstat has convincingly proven to be a safe and effective drug, the field of...

Re: A mystery

I don't think there are mysteries. It is just complex. Read the signs and make up your mind. Low pps is a buying opportunity if you believe the signs are positive. A low pps is a sell indication if signs are negative. In the latter case the ' low' pps is actually too high. So it is just how you look...

Hip, can you post the link to the article? If I search it I run into membership based downloads.

Wasn't there a guy on SA who was strong into the patents? Maybe we should invite him to come over.

This Muñoz-Alarcón is an expert in this area. He has some other interesting papers on this subject if you look him up.
