Re: Questions I continue to have

Here is an article (thanks to 'telomerase' from SA) that provides an interesting angle on the current pharma industry and what should be changed in order to bring drugs faster to patients. I copied the whole comment, because otherwise it may disappear behind passwords. Although Trump is mentioned it...

Re: JnJ/Geron presentations ASH2016 available

Thanks, bio. I share your observations. Ad 1: the AML trials is even part of the collaboration agreement and was indeed set for the end of 2016. They must have seen some interesting data already by then. Until now, further clinical studies confirm that AML is a valid target. Maybe we will get a surp...

Re: Take aways from PiperJaffrey 24th Annual Healthcare Conference

'Pre-clinical data strongly point to the direction that imetelstat is effecting rapidly proliferating malignant progenitor clones in a multiplicity of myeloid malignancies.'

I suppose the data of the 'numerous pre-clinical studies' that JnJ is sponsoring are supporting this statement.

Re: Take aways from PiperJaffrey 24th Annual Healthcare Conference

Indeed. For me Dr.S. sounded upbeat about the chances of imet beating mom and pac. He didn't say that directly, but by emphasizing the poor results of these two Jak-inhibitors he wanted to show that the window of opportunity is wide open for imetelstat.

Re: Competitive threats to imetelstat

Sargasso, there will always be competition if be it for the sole reason that no drug works for everybody and for every disease. What I do know is that there is no competing drug that universally attacks the malignant clones in hematologic cancers like imetelstat does (see latest ET study which is ba...

MotleyFool: Here Are Johnson & Johnson's Next 10 Potential Blockbuster Drugs

by Sean Williams, Nov 1, 2016 at 12:23PM Johnson & Johnson's pipeline is flourishing, and these experimental drugs could play a key role. Given the importance of its pharmaceutical operations in driving growth, J&J announced its intent last year to file a new drug application for 10 new molecular e...

Re: Questions I continue to have

Hunt, regarding your 3rd bullet about delaying the milestone payment: I can't hardly believe that delaying this payment outweighs the commercial importance of having imet approved as soon as possible. If imet goes well, they will need to pay this milstone anyway, leaving the only benefit being the i...

Re: Questions I continue to have

Hunt, these are all valid questions. We are left with trying to interpret the scarse information provided by JnJ and Geron. Usually JnJ doesn't speak publicly about new drugs that are in an early testing phase (i.e. P1 and 2). Maybe they will let us know more when imet is in P3. I consider it as a k...

bio, I agree regarding AML and CML. And off course the combos. Dosing: good question, I was wondering about that myself also. Highlights from the conference call 3 Nov 2016

Some highlights from the conference call: 'Janssen has been sponsoring numerous preclinical studies to explore the effects of imetelstat in other hematologic myeloid malignancies.' That's where the CML and AML are coming from. Obviously there is much more going on than we can see. 'University of Cal...

Questions for 3 Nov 2016 cc

So this thread is to collect hypothetical questions for the cc of tomorrow to see afterwards which ones have been addressed and which haven't. My questions would be: - Can you confirm the intention of JnJ to file imetelstat for Frontline MF in 2019? - If yes: when do you expect the Frontline MF tria...

Re: MDS study updated

Btw: Dr.S. always said that trials were to be financed from the milestone payments' cash flow. And if JnJ is a real partner they will ensure that Geron will not be suffocated by lack of cash while the trials are going on. I am sure they will have a mutual understanding on that.

Re: MDS study updated

Bio, your figures make a kind of sense as far as I can see. I like those short and simple calculations for getting an idea. Let's see if people like Hoosier or Phill could comment on it. Regarding the pushing to 2020: as you said on SA, it is probably to get more data on durability of CR and PR resp...
