Re: luspatercept/Acceleron/Medalist
I think it is a standard disclaimer. For MF we know a lot about potential toxicities and side effects. There has been quite some official reporting about that, e.g. from Dr.T. So no need for Dr.S. to repeat this again. For MDS there is less known/published about toxicities. That could explain the di...

Scott: it was not written in stone, but mentioned by Dr.S in the latest telco.
Bp: Please let them go straight forward with the current single drug trials. All the comboing after approval... I am not sure I understand your concern.

Re: luspatercept/Acceleron/Medalist
Bp, anemia is a symptom. If severe, it may not be possible to use imetelstat due to myelosuppression. So if luspatercept is capable of reduce anemia, imetelstat may be administered. You see this now with the combination EPO and interferon in MF. Anemic patients will have problems with interferon due...

Re: New 8k on Geron website with link to slick slide presentation
Having said that, the opening statement on slide 3 about imet directly attacking the malignant progenitor cells, is a strong claim, for which they must have seen quite some evidence. Slides 5 and 7 suggest that imet may target hematologic malignancies, which are a broad set of indications. Slide 9 p...

Re: Reading tea leaves and errors of omission
Hi Sargasso, these are all very good questions. It seems JnJ/Geron chose the MF R/R because no alternative exists as you say. That means that any positive result on these patients will be a 'victory' on BAT. I think JnJ/Geron will also look to the kind and depth of the response, in addition to the s...

Re: AML study--not
Bio, legally you are probably right. On the other hand, I consider it as material information, so... maybe I'll drop a line to Geron and ask Anna directly. Who knows we'll get some answer. Nice predictions. Could all happen as you say. Not too sure about the acquisition though, probably too early. G...

Re: Reading tea leaves and errors of omission
From Ligas on SA: "I really don't think they will make any decisions until all patients in the study have reached 24 weeks. Remember that according to response criteria, any response must be held for 12 weeks at least to be considered a response considering all of the first 20 were at 12 weeks in Se...

Re: Reading tea leaves and errors of omission
From Bio on SA: "I have thought about your comments and I may be incorrect as you suggest in my timing, if so I apologize and did not intend to be misleading. My understanding is that as each patient reaches first the 12 week mark, and then the 24 week mark they are analyzed on a rolling basis, that...

Re: Reading tea leaves and errors of omission
From Ligas3 on SA: "I saw your post about the 24 week analysis. Your time frames are wrong. The 12 week analysis of the first 20 patients is completely separate from the 24 week analysis of all patients in the study, emphasize all. If 20 patients were at 12 weeks in September then they certainly wou...

Re: Reading tea leaves and errors of omission
Bio, your observation that we have an omission here regrading the provision of material information is a serious matter. I would suggest to send an email to Dr.S. He probably knows you and will likely read your email. I believe he shouldn't leave such an email unanswered.

Re: Questions I continue to have
Hi, Bio. Thanks for your post. It keeps a matter of guessing, because we don't know what is going behind the scenes. The AML and CML presentations at ASH are intriguing and suggest a direction JnJ is looking at next to MDS and MF. On the other hand, there may be plans in a total other direction whic...

Re: Geron Files new patent: Synthesis of protected 3'-amino nucleoside monomers
Although this latest patent is too technical for me to really understand, herewith a note on the general importance the proper management of IP by Geron: From the 10-K (over 2015) We remain responsible for prosecuting, at Janssen's direction, the patents we have exclusively licensed to Janssen. The ...
