Re: Video posted Sept 2018 - Dr. Steensma
Thanks Ryan, good news is always welcome here, there has certainly been enough of the other stuff. One thing that we might bear in mind is the cousins relationship between MDS and MF. Imetelstat is prolonging life in MF patients, possibly by altering transformation to AML, we should know soon. In al...

Re: What do we know for sure at this point? And what can we speculate?
My response? Choose whom you wish to believe, Dr. Raza, Dr. Steemsa or the author of this article. To drag up solid tumor failures of the distant past is interesting. The focus is on heme now. Three weeks to abstract release, seven weeks to ASH. At that point Dr. Scarlett will have to provide clarit...

Re: What do we know for sure at this point? And what can we speculate?
You are so right. Scarlett has obfuscated the data so we really don't know what he means since most are not statisticians. Here's my take away right or not. 1. MOS has been met in the low dose arm and is between 19 and 23 months. 2. 50% or more of the patients in the high dose arm have been followed...

Sdraw on twitter
https://twitter.com/_sdrawkcabeman_ Always worth a careful read. I still think Scarlett's wording re MF in R/R is unclear re "primary end points" (at 24 weeks) which we know are symptoms and SVR, and "primary analysis" which I believe took place starting in June ("before the end of the second quarte...

What do we know for sure at this point? And what can we speculate?
1. The second agreement requiring J and J to develop and commercialize a product remains in place. 2. There is a "key observation" noted by Scarlett. Speculation: The reason OS is prolonged is that transformation to AML is modified. Not much to say in absence of no CRs and one PR but there is substa...

Re: Abstracts
00pf, Companies/academic institutions hear of acceptance/rejection about now. Sometimes they notify that x number of abstracts or poster accepted but that's all. On Nov 1st at 9 AM EST, the titles and "four corners" are released. No discussion or augmentation until presentation at ASH in December.

Further thoughts, the good news and the bad news
After several very long walks, sleepless nights, alcohol, and a very painful discussion with my wife, a wonderful woman indeed, I was playing mandolin to try to be with friends and keep my mind occupied, I think we were playing "Cuckoo's Nest", which summarizes how I felt. I then thought of this pos...

Zete--Hoosier Investor on SA board is very well respected poster and believes the second agreement you refer to is still in force. I have written to Jacob Goldberger IR to try to clarify and will share any responses. bp

Fenaux study
As I look back over the Fenaux presentation, if you check Figure 3. Example of a 24-week TI responder, this patient doesn't leave the yellow zone until week 42! They he enters the grey zone and stays there until the end of data collection. Can anyone get any sense for when Janssen actually "opened t...

Re: Compassionate Use and the Hippocratic Oath
Ryan, you are not wrong. The compassionate use list indicated that drugs "pending approval" or something of that nature were included leading anyone to conclude the drug was exactly that. Also the European job posting certainly suggested a Janssen commitment. Why on earth would they mislead in such ...

Recent events
For good reasons I have avoided the computer for the last 24 hours so much of this may have already been brought up and discussed. My initial reaction was much like most and was summarized in yesterday's post. This is not the disaster purported. Its not even the disaster that accompanied yesterday's...

Re: A tough day
Ryan, thank you. I think I need to take a few days off and try to put my financial life back in order. My psyche. too. Thanks for your support. I guess we wait until ASH but if Janssen didn't like what was in their own abstracts enough to continue this relationship, it seem unlikely that we would to...

A tough day
I have been licking my wounds and feeling sorry for my self and for the patients who continue to be denied what appears to be an effect drug. I am sure I share everyone's astonishment that Janssen terminated their cooperative association. I will just share a couple of observations. After today I did...

jpheis, thanks for posting. Just finished the article. More powerful data to support selective and persistent suppression of the malignant clone. Recall also that purported CSCs in MM also showed suppression, this time in vivo. Regarding absurd valuations, do you mean too high or too low. I think we...

Re: Dr. Tefferi and patents
My recollection is that the Tefferi/Mayo patent was for dosing and indications not combo. Whether that patent would ever hold up in the face of Geron's extensive IP or was part of an agreement with Geron is open to question. bp

Re: Why Imbark gets approved
Hi Phil, very nice synthesis and summary. Agree that all signs point to imminent MF approval. No plans for a phase III R/R study says a lot in a study that had to be extended because of the surprising extension of MOS. I imagine a front line study will follow but at least the drug would be on the ma...
