Re: compassionate use program?

This was some "administrative error" !!, and speaking for myself led me to buy more as it appeared as a clear endorsement of Janssens commitment. I do not buy this as a "mistake". While not a conspiracy theorist and I discourage such from this board, I do think there were several misleading events i...

Re post from SA

Del, when you write your article (and I will look forward to it), if Janssen shifted toward CAR-T which seems likely, one would think a window for Imetelstat still is very open. As you know, CAR-T is patient specific and at least currently, involves harvesting a patients own cells making it a very e...

ASH

ASH presentions complete. Substantial numbers of patients with high transfusion requirements showing sustained TI at 8 and 24 weeks with CR's PR'S and major HI's as well as molecular modification. I won't break it down since the data is available elsewhere. The plenary session re Luspatercept looked...

Re: GERON CORPORATION JUMPS BACK INTO THE SPOTLIGHT

Thank you for posting this Hunt, yes to bolster line B, Janssen simultaneously committed to Arrowhead Pharma and a much bigger potential market (non myeloproliferative disease related). Also Drs Scarlett negotiated one heck of a deal at the start of this that involved very hefty milestones and a lar...

Best wishes to All especially MF and MDS patients

As we approach ASH, it is my sincerest hope that we will see strong meaningful positive data that will benefit patients. There is really not much to say as we await the updated data and see how the medical community evaluates and values it. Single agent activity is strong and in truth we know very l...

Re: compassionate use program?

Bill Cheng, I don't think it was a mistake but rather a mis calculation or a last minute mind change. I placed great weight on that "mistake" and felt it was further evidence of Janssen commitment to the drug. Now that was a mistake.bp

Re: Phase III?

00pf5272, this has been an ongoing source of great confusion. Phase III appears to be recruiting but NOT enrolling. There is a big difference. I do not doubt patients are lined up to begin study but the study is not officially in PIII since no patients have been randomized and probably won't be for ...

Re: compassionate use program?

Zhears, it was never acknowledged as a mistake. If it was a mistake it was a cruel one. It appeared to be a genuine anticipation of approval at the time. What happened after is anyones guess but Janssen should at least own up to it and Geron should provide an explanation. I feel for any patient who ...

A repost of a message I left on SA please discuss and critique

Can we go back and talk about the science? Can I start by recommending Dr. Raza's article in the 2014 Advances in Genetics and Genomics. In it the point is made with a bubble graph (reference kindly provided by richrohel above, via youtube) that MDS with ringed sideroblasts carries a unique genetic ...

Your memory is correct. This finding is in stark contrast to Dr. Teferri's study which involved patients with much less advanced disease. bp

Re: Two oral presentations at ASH

Here' s the link for the high risk R/R study: https://ash.confex.com/ash/2018/webprogram/Paper115163.html Its worth reading the other abstracts to see how they (don't) compare. Imetelstat has a large number of patients analyzed perhaps the largest. Additional studies confirm JAK failures and dismal ...

Re: FDA Thoughts on Accelerated Approval

Agree that for ongoing studies Janssen has to provide drug but not for new studies or if drug approved. I hope Geron has contracted with the existing producer of Imetelstat otherwise the FDA hurdles re a new facility will be huge. bp

Re: FDA Thoughts on Accelerated Approval

J6, I moved your post to the top of the list since it provides a lens through which we might interpret the up coming ASH presentations. I found these articles particularly reassuring and if we see good data, they may prove relevant. Janssen made a big deal about billion dollar pipelines. So what if ...
