Pfizer's big push into the Oncology space

With the recent $43B acquisition of Seagen, Pfizer is poised to be one of the leading Pharmaceuticals targeting oncology in the very near future. Patent expiration is looming with several key established drugs in their pipeline. They've taken an offensive big step in securing a global presence in th...

Re: Absolutely fabulous comments from Dr. Jeffrey Savidge

Bp - A long time ago, on a message board far, far away, there was a campaign to raise awareness for the then upcoming MDS P3 IMerge Clinical Trial called Operation Kmall. Over the course of that campaign, it was discovered that there was a strong correlation between Vietnam veterans exposed to Agent...

Re: 50 New Positions Posted Today.........

For whatever it's worth, 49 of the 50 "Oncology Key Account Manager" positions have been taken down. The only one left standing is out of Jackson, MS. https://workforcenow.adp.com/mascsr/default/mdf/recruitment/recruitment.html?cid=a69f1432-af4c-471b-88c8-44c7c81587aa&ccId=19000101_000001&type=JS&la...

Re: A blessing from the hepatologists Major hat tip to Wildrides YMB

Probably one of the best digs in a very long time. Thank you Wildrides over on YMB! I agree Ryan that the anonymous letter from the MDS patient in Leipzig is quite impressive: "......since December 2021 I have been transfusion-free with very good blood values. This is a remarkable improvement in my ...

Re: The cost to develop a new drug

Since Janssen funded 50% of both P2 CTs, I would imagine Janssen spent $150-$300M if not more over the course of 4yrs. -Kmall https://ir.geron.com/investors/press-releases/press-release-details/2014/Geron-Announces-Global-Strategic-Collaboration-with-Janssen--to-Develop-and-Commercialize-Imetelstat/...

Bristol Meyers MDS expansion labeling in Europe.....

"Bristol Myers (BMY) has a partnership with Merck (NYSE:MRK) to jointly advance and promote Reblozyl after the latter company acquired its original developer, Acceleron Pharma, in November 2021. The treatment is already indicated in the EU as a late-line option for adults with anemia due to MDS. If ...

Re: THANK YOU IMETELCHAT BOARD !!!!!

LWS - I'm sorry, but this isn't the forum for politics. Period. What I posted was directly tied to the inactions of the FDA. That is a topic of discussion here. You need to take your views to a more appropriate outlet. While I can respect anyone's thought process or decision, it doesn't mean that I ...

Re: THANK YOU IMETELCHAT BOARD !!!!!

LWS - I don't think politics belong on this forum. The ONLY reason that I even posted on the plight of the horseshoe crab was that it was tied to the beaurocratic policies of the FDA. Because of this it faces extinction. The FDA is a topical discussion here as it effects the outcome of Imetelstat's ...

Re: THANK YOU IMETELCHAT BOARD !!!!!

143 signatures added to the petition in the last week..... pretty impressive, considering this was started in July 2020.....but we can do better. This should be in the tens of thousands, if not millions......we're talking about SEVERAL species teetering on the verge of extinction, particularly due t...

Re: A wonderful summation of the state of things

Ryan - understood, but the data is the data....it's superior to any other BAT, and they had 8+ months to review before making that decision. New molecular drugs have been approved in the past to serve an unmet need. It certainly appears to be a case of more than meets the eye in the approval hurdles...

Re: A wonderful summation of the state of things

Ridiculous that the FDA didn't set priority review here. Hundreds, if not thousands of patients will needlessly die while they dragged this out an additional 10 months......what the hell does Fast Track Designation imply? -Kmall
