So ABBV got good results in VERY sick AML patients, using azacitidine as their telomerase inhibitor along with Venclexta.
Other companies are using the ancient 1990s telomerase inhibitors in trials as well, ARGX, Constellation, and many others.
Why are these companies avoiding collaboration with Geron? Why won't they at least use a 2003 telomerase inhibitor, or Shay's 2015 favorite, 6-thio-dG?
Is it just impossible to deal with Geron's absentee "CEO"? What is going on here (or rather, what ISN'T going on here?
Anyone have any thoughts? TIA.
