A new patent was issued to Geron on July 31, 2018, relating to compounds useful in inhibiting telomere elongation. See: https://tinyurl.com/y976ctrh (link to USPTO patent). I've yet to review and would welcome comments from others who do.

Re: New Patent / IMET 2.0 ?
This "new" patent was filed as a provisional by Sergei back in 2011.
You can read several papers on these modified G TIs on the Shay web site.
There is also this possibility for Imet 2.0:

...and everyone has known about these possibilities for years... except, apparently, JNJ

Re: New Patent / IMET 2.0 ?
J6, thank you for posting. This patent as Cheng points out was provisional but now as you have kindly posted appears to have been issued. Note the provision for oral administration. As yet we know nothing about potential synergism in vivo but it sure is interesting. Again thank you for your research and contributions. bp

There was a second patent issued to Geron on July 31 that I overlooked:

Synthesis of protected 3'-amino nucleoside monomers
Abstract
Orthogonally protected 3'-amino nucleoside monomers and efficient methods for their synthesis are described. The methods employ selective protection of the 3'-amino group in the presence of the unprotected nucleoside base.
