Some time ago I found out that an old friend of mine had become a principle hematologist at an academic hospital. He has many years of experience with MPN patients, including MDS, AML and all other myeloid malignancies. I asked him about imetelstat. His first response was: "a beautiful drug". He attended ASH2015 and has heard the presentations about imetelstat. He was rather impressed by the results so far, adding that he is looking forward to the results of large scale trials.
It seems that imetelstat has started finding its way into the clinical community of hematologists and oncologists. The start of the AML combination trial this year will certainly contribute to that.
"a beautifull drug"
