Yawn. I respectfully disagree.

He is a journalist with no background in science, and has been nothing but biased, glib, and unimpressive with his tales on Geron.

His “article” (blog) is nothing but more gaseous click bait. He is now getting people to read who had never heard of Geron, and people to read that know about him based on his crass, unsavory lies to try to get investors to give up. So he’s getting engagement from both sides, which as a journalist, is a win-win.

But I don’t think this is a big deal.
I don’t think he’s influential at all.

The Lancet was the big deal. And NEJM (2!) circa 2014.

Not a big deal in terms of science - but people follow him - go back and look at his article before the Janssen decision about “the divorce papers are all but signed “ and look what happened to stock price

I also found it interesting that Steensma was following him and likewise
