Biogen buys Reata for $7.3B.....

Biogen acquiring Reata Pharmaceuticals may not be on the radar of many Geron investors, although it should be. Dawn Bir of Geron's BOD is Reata's CCO, where she leads marketing, market access, sales, and commercial operations. -Kmall

Party "A" lost out on the acquisition of Reata over .50 cents a share....... negotiations played out over several months. Interesting take on a Bio-pharma bidding war. -Kmall

So much goes on behind the scenes. We can only wonder what John has been up to. Reata projecting 1.5 B sales in 2030. Geron 7B in 2033.

Bp - If we follow the same buyout price potential as Reata for estimated peak revenue stream projections, then Geron would be looking at being valued at a little over $34B.......now that's a lot of "if's".....and I would suspect that given even more targeted indications, and short comings of competition - Magrolimab being one and now several CAR-T Clinical Trials have been put on hold recently by the FDA, one just yesterday, although another hold was also lifted - I think we could see a buyout even higher than that. I've stated in the past the number I see being a possiblity, it's just north of $40B, and again pure speculation and solely my opinion based on other examples of Biotech acquisitions, global patient population estimates, etc. Just a little food for thought while we anticipate any upcoming news/events. -Kmall
