will this be the NDA release ? I feel like it wont move the price - people already expect approval for MDS - what will move the price is good results for Impact (MF) and Impress (AML) would be huge

It’s a PR program which includes a representative from the MDS society.

This event on June 20 appears to be chapter 2 of the KOL (Key Opinion Leaders).

Note: PR can have several meanings (Press Release, Public Relations, Partial Remission, Peer Review). All could apply here.

A couple of notable points that I took away from this forum:

6-8 new MDS patients are diagnosed in Tampa per week.

50-60 thousand new cases (I assume this is globally) of MDS are diagnosed per year.

Dr. Scarlett touted the clinicians and the FDA as a good CEO does.

Dr. Scarlett (or was it the doctor from Moffitt?) mentioned that the FDA came to THEM and basically asked, "what can we do to help with this population of underserved cancer patients."

Subjective post: Dr. Scarlett seems like a really cool, thoughtful dude.

Hence the pony tail (to your last point).

Yes, John will have the last word. (As a real fortune cookie I got once said: “he who laughs laughs, laughs laughs.”) He definitely presented some subtle messages. For example: 1. J and J, you blew it and should have been more patient, now we own the brain drain you lost to us, who believed in us like you didn’t. You definitely blew it. Really. 2. We know the FDA and NIH want us and will support approval. 3. We will mount a campaign to move the third party payers even though you never want to pay—you will hear from patients and patient advocate organizations as well as KOL’s. Anil will prove to you that you will save money on several fronts if you pay for Imetelstat. 4. We know even though Imetelstat is a new, drug with a new MOA and an incredible track records supported by heretofore never(that’s right), never before described results in a very difficult to treat disease, we know that with combinations the results will be even better, so BP, if you are listening and I know you are, buy us. And if you are a small company (nod to MAIA?), keep an open mind. 5. CRISPR and antibody therapies have not worked well for this disease. 6. Lots of arguments against bone marrow transplant, high mortality, high cost, lower return in older patient population. 7. Lus is toast, but look at the money. Lus can be used in 15-20 of LR MDS (R/S+) but we get them all in the end. But note John has been a very gracious victor. Did I miss something? Please add if I did.

Also worth noting, Imetelstat does not fry the bone marrow like HMA’s. Cytopenia is on target, in other words, that’s how the drug works.

60 days or less to FDA acceptance of NDA application. They will certainly grant accelerated approval timeline. 50 more hires to come for a sales force within the next 4 months IMHO. Drug sales by the end of the year. Best wishes to all, bp

I received this email from Geron today. Apparently, Geron (with a series of Endpoints Webinars) plans to keep investors much more informed about ongoing progress. We have to be very encouraged about the month of June, with the NDA summitted and KOL's full support.
