Geron's Patents

Does anyone have a fair idea of the value, (i.e. broadness and specificity) of Geron's patents? I'm curious about the impact of Geron's patents on a potential BO calculation.
I've just done a cursory review of alternate methods of Telomerase Inhibition as well as Activation and it seems as though there are multiple viable methods in early testing. Do Geron's patents impact the commercialization of alternate approaches to TI & TA? How much could they factor into a BO?
