5% of good news is still good news (just less)
LCTX, which as old timers recall was spun off when Dr. Scarlett assumed the reins (or perhaps reign would also apply), has inked a deal with Genentech for development of its optical cell therapy for dry AMD. Genentech pays an upfront 50 M and assumes development responsibilities. It’s nice to see cell based therapies advance. Geron gets a 5% royalty on LCTX sales if I remember correctly. I expect that since this is such pioneering therapy that the FDA approval slow boat we have come to know will require large studies and that 5% may be a while in coming to fruition. Still, its good news.
