2 MDS type side effects reported under investigation in Sickle Cell disease treatment. I am saddened to see a potential setback in the treatment of this terrible disease.

Could this potentially impact Imetelstat in a favorable way? I did see a post on YMB implying as much, but I am struggling to understand exactly how/to what extent.
Re: Possible unfortunate Blue Bird adverse side effect
Believe Crispr Therapeutics is also working on b-thalassemia and sickle cell . Their CRISPR/Cas9 program aims to increase Hbf ( fetal hemoglobin) expression. Basically gene editing not unlike the Bluebird program. But correct me if wrong. One MIGHT imagine that the patients manifesting those diseases were predisposed to have done so, and possibly not directly related to the trial therapies. But the market reacts in a heartbeat, with no forgiveness.
