None. That's fair, it's a European meeting. All 22 members are non US. But politics, academic rivalry etc are not bound by the seas. In any case, AHA is is December. Dr. Mascarenhas is a feisty New Yorker and a first class clinical investigator and he will be heard. We will finally likely see an oral prevention at that time but since the data has already been presented in an academic forum some rules may apply as to whether the data can be presented again even if in a different (oral prevention) format. In other words new data will be presented most likely. What form might that take? As many of you know I have tried to get data on the rates of transformation from MF/MDS to AML in treated patients. None has been forthcoming. Perhaps there will be enough data for a presentation at AHA in Dec. This is an area of deep interest to Dr. M. If anyone wants to know, he does. And if there is anyone who wants the exploratory study in high risk MDS/AML, its him. The current MF study may warrant publication in the NEJM (but they love PIII studies best). There is plenty to warrant publication in a world class journal at this point to put the heme/onc world on notice that Imetelstat is ready to come out of the closet. bp
