We have done our homework, now the hard part, patience

The Imetelstat TI science has shown: 1. Net net: Strong safety and efficacy, clinical benefits correlated with decreased telomerase activity and depletion of malignant cells. 2. Benefits: Recovery of bone marrow, healthy blood production, survival increased, symptom relief Even so we are edgy, frust...

Re: Questions for the Shareholders meeting

Many great thankyou’s again biopearl123 for all you do on and for this board regarding our understanding and use in our personal medical and investing lives! I’m not sure there are many legitimate additional questions to be added to your list but I will submit a couple that you can add or not. Just ...

Re: 2022 - a Monumental Year.........

Thanks again kmall for your efforts here! I think a bell you rang for me on this post along with your “A Purple Squirrel & Venetoclax Combo – AML & Lymphoid Market Potential” is that dots are being connected, late stage CTs are progressing and new ones, even combinations, are getting ready to start ...

Re: There are many ways to think about partnering

While it may not always sound like it, I do believe partnerships have great value and are coming. However, put me in the “be cautious” column regarding partnering. I actually hope the Ex-US partnerships come sooner and are even more significant in value than we expect but I think it is helpful to un...

Re: Time Flies Like An Arrow

Kmall and biopearl, thanks for the good thoughts and perspective as usual! Yes, there are times when a padded room is the only reprieve with some of the mystifying things occurring with the Imetelstat studies. With all the “bright minds and regulatory procedure alternatives” at the FDA, can anyone t...

Re: Ashah’s search for p values

biopearl, thanks again for pushing the envelope here! I know you know this but the concepts and usage of p-value is not for the faint of heart! I have a BA in math with a fair amount of statistics included but given that education is now well over 50 years in the past, p-value is merely a faint remn...

Re: There are many ways to think about partnering

Thanks for the feedback bucbeard, always nice to hear from you! LWS I appreciated your various cuts at this thread’s thought process and your opinions on the way forward. I have, as most here, spent time on understanding what the JNJ/Geron partnership offered and what was missing. Much of what went ...

Re: Time Flies Like An Arrow

Time flies like an arrow most of the time, but not always. When you are wasting away due to hematological cancer or the clock ticking for any cancer for that matter, time definitely tends to “fly like an arrow”. However, when one is in the dentist’s chair not so much. And certainly not when waiting ...

COVID-19 Has Contributed to Chronic Blood Shortage

With all the things going on with these P3 studies I hope the blood supply issues doesn’t get lost in the shuffle! “The shortages affect many people, but perhaps cancer patients most of all. People with cancer need more blood transfusions than those with any other disease, and they use about a quart...

Re: Hunt

biopearl123, as expected you have spent considerable time trying to discern where Geron could be going here and what questions we could ask to find the answers we are looking for on attacking these diseases, approval, investments, etc. I personally do not feel like we have enough pieces of the puzzl...

Re: While we're waiting......you're hired !!! Pt 3

Great investigative work kmall! I don’t think I have ever seen the likes of what you have compiled re: a company’s employees from an external view point. And I like the logic and analysis you have added with it. Just very good due diligence and efforts not typical for most of us who just look at the...

Re: Sept 30 presentation

Agreed, Dr. Scarlett is exuding excitement about Geron’s prospects, of course in his low key manner. And has dropped new hints and slants in each presentation to keep it interesting and continually pressing key points regarding the differentiation of Imetelstat’s TI characteristics to other drugs. I...

Re: On the topic of blood transfusions

I did mention in the "Btw" on my last post that the current math would change as Imetelstat 2.0 and combinations come into the market. I personally don’t see anything to rival the reductions in RBC transfusions, not now, not in 8-10 years, probably just naïve. But I think Imetelstat and Geron stand ...

Re: On the topic of blood transfusions

Okay thank you biopearl123, I didn’t do my homework very well and your estimates from the “Reality check” post from April-2020 continues to be in the ballpark. But I’m going to continue to beat the dead hope of sanity here. If I take from your link above, the 50% of LR MDS patients have a TB of 8/16...

Re: On the topic of blood transfusions

Okay, I may not have read this closely enough but if we do some basic math from this study’s conclusions and extrapolate to the 100,000 MDS patients with LR MDS from the HC Wainwright presentation. I think we can say that half of those patients have a transfusion burden of >= 8/16 weeks. Then 50,000...
