Re: Re the early Mayo data, my response to a question on YMB

Very well said BP. If you're willing to re-post your comments on my SA blog I would greatly appreciate it. My reading between the lines of Dr. Scarlett's words indicate that Dr. Tefferi was more interested in helping the patients in his clinic than he was in running a controlled study. I think he t...

High Risk MDS Cohort in Phase 3 Trial?

Some food for thought regarding the Phase 3. This was inspired by some of the discussion on Seeking Alpha, so I went back and re-listened to Dr. Fenaux's talk at EHA last week. When asked about other potential uses for Imetelstat he mentioned the promising MF data but then he said this, "I think the...

Re: The 2019 Annual Shareholders Meeting: My thoughts.

karagozoglu12345, You make excellent points. The Mayo trial results showed disease modification and remission, which I believe was the reason for the excitement at JNJ. However, even though Imetelstat destroyed most of the progenitor clones and cleared the bone marrow, I'm not sure what effect (if a...

Re: Quotes from Shareholder meeting to focus on

Ryan, Don't forget that the Moffitt center is also one of the IMBARK trial centers, so not only was historical data culled from there, but also Imetelstat is being used first hand by these doctors. As was pointed out elsewhere, the RWD is also contemporaneous to the IMBARK data, so it is truly the b...

Re: The 2019 Annual Shareholders Meeting: My thoughts.

Hi karagozoglu12345, Just to touch on one point you mentioned: "Geron should have insisted on using Imet for frontline treatment in the MF trial as a precondition for partnership with J&J but did not take place." I think Dr. Rizo did an excellent job of addressing this point once and for all. They (...

Re: The 2019 Annual Shareholders Meeting: My thoughts.

Part 2 The final question came from @Leviek, on the phone and it was great to hear his voice and see the reaction in the room. They all know who you are Ed! Since I knew the nature of his question in advance I spent my time focusing on Dr. Rizo’s reaction and body language. I’ll say this; the lady ...

The 2019 Annual Shareholders Meeting: My thoughts.

For those that don't know it, I attended the 2019 meeting in Menlo Park. As requested by biopearl I am re-posting here my thoughts about the meeting. I'm happy to answer any questions just allow me some time before doing so. Part 1 On June 6th 2019 I attended the Geron Annual Shareholder Meeting. T...

Re: The difference between "may suggest" and "indicates"

Cheng_ho/telomerase/Bill Walker, That is a hilarious interpretation of what has transpired regarding the purchase of Imetelstat drug from Janssen. Without any way of knowing the quantity purchased there is no way to determine the cost paid and if it was higher than available elsewhere. Yet you conti...

Re: Shareholder’s letter

My personal view is that JS has a strategy with an implied message to FDA that if they don’t approve, even provisionally, on the basis of current data (after all there is 1. A comparitor arm, 2. True unequivocal OS esp in TN 3. Prior well documented CRs/PRs 4. Presumed strong support from thought l...

Re: May 16th it is - Yet Another Day of Anticipation

Ryan, if there are several more durable TIs then the numbers become significantly better than Luspatercept and perhaps the market will finally realize that Imetelstat is not just 'as good as' Luspatercept, but is actually a better drug. Certainly the sicker population with higher transfusion burden ...

Re: FDA Thoughts on Accelerated Approval

Not entirely true. JNJ is contractually obligated to continue to manufacture Imetelstat for Geron for 2 years. I'm fairly certain whatever facility they are doing that in is more than adequate to meet FDA regulations.
