Just saw a reference to a 2017 article in Blood
on the possibility of Jakfi enhancing evolution of mutations or covering these up with temporary symptomatic relief. If either turns out to be true, imet could catapult to primary tx rapidly. Google jakafi evolution of mutations and you will get to the article.

Does anyone have any idea how transparent Janssen
Has to be with Geron on other things they may be tinkering with? We all know about AML possibilities, but if Janssen is already doing anything preclinical in pushing imet as a truly platform drug do they have to divulge this? Imet as a platform would push the value into the stratosphere obviously.

Re: EMA Prime
In regards to the original post, my impression that primary designation was definitely open in Europe for MDS, not MF necessarily, though one could see Jak inhibitors already on a slippery slope worlwide, but that is just my conjecture.

Re: In case Sdraw reads this board--repost from SA
In regards to skipping a P3 with imetelstat, one only has to look back at SRPT. They got a drug approved that really is questionable whether it works at all. This drug passed on anecdotal performance in 12 patients with no controls. Truly this is a friendlier FDA, and I will not be surprised to see ...

Quoting BioMedTech from SA on his conversation with Gern Inv relations person, “we should not infer that Median OS would be reached by end of Q2!”
We were right in our interpretation of Chip’s remark.

Re: Take aways from today's cc
If I could add acouple of personal meaningful takeaways after listening to and reading CC transcript. Chip seemed very confident that OS would be known to be very meaningful by the end of June, not because it would be reached, but the original endpoint would have been reached. He did mention death r...

Oh, I know there would have to be some studies. Just thinking where this thing might go over the next few years and why JnJ might jump whole hog for GERN.

Question to pose
With the OS in the Imbark trial now up to 19-21 months, would a new treatment paradigm be worth considering? Would not combination therapy from the outset seem more reasonable, though expensive? Or, even imet from the start and splenectomy if a bonemarrow biopsy and aspirate show reversal of marrow ...

Re: Frontline MF vs R/R MF spleen size
If reversal of bonemarrow fibrosis is the result of imet tx, it would seem that splenectomy for sumptomatic relief could then be a viable option should this not occur with drug tx. I can’t beleive the drs did a splenectomy in the pt referred to in the op as this was taking away their only functionin...

While our CEO isnot the best communicator, being the head of a publicaly traded company he has to be ultra careful that he does not mislead anyone in a short or long fashion from an Sec legal standpoint.I am sure that J&J has another layer of shackles on him as well as they don’t want another Pharma...

Ah, I was afraid of that. We all will pass one day, but I would hate to think that the trials caused him to come off of the drug when it was helping him, and led to his passing.

Re: Dr. Alessandro Vannucchi about imetelstat
About to watch this, but both drugs can cause thrombocytopenia, so I doubt any overlapping combo tx would be contemplated. Maybe alternating, as in getting these dz under control, then switching to the jak inhibitor for some symptomatice relief seems logical, but probably too simplematic for today’s...

Does anyone here know if Irishtrader’s husband, John, was able to get back on Imet, or is still with us in life? I sure hope so, but have not seen an irish post in a long time, so I amfearing the worst for them. This stuff goes way beyond investing.

Re: Current 1Q18 MF median OS review and related upcoming reporting
It is a shame that all the info in these CTs has to be so closely guarded. Seems there should be some mention of numbers of original pts still in the trials and reference to their initiation in the trial. This should be fair game as we know the OS for r/r patients is short.

Fishermagnets response to SA article today
Fish, I would love to hear your thoughts on the hit article posted today on SA. I scanned thru the qtrly Sec fillings mentioned but did not see mention of deaths in either trial admitted to by Jansenn. The article was mainly a rehash of difficulties in applying Imet to solid tumors in years back. Ho...

Re: Thoughts on this week's presentation
Bio, thanks for the summary and thoughts. I listened to the webcast, and my impression was that Scarlet seemed a lot more confident when referring to JnJ than he has in a long time. I think he knows we have a winner on our hands. It is just going to be a matter of how big a winner. I am an MD, but i...

Irish, I have been following your and John's story for some time now. I appreciate the update here recently and assure you that you and John are in my prayers. Introduction
First of all thanks for letting me onto this message board. As an introduction, I have been following Imetelstat since the Mayo paper was made public. I am a physician, though not in hematology, but the CRs and PRs caught my attention, as this is a rarely infrequent claim in the biotech world. I bec...

Re: A dusting of breadcrumbs
Check out study number 5 on the CT site. Has been ongoing since Nov 2012. That is 3 1/2 years with some of those pts still surviving. I know this was the study that put Imetelstat on the map.. Must be still working for some. No new info, but meaningful.

Re: GERN buy-out
What got me, and why I have stayed in G for a long time was the report at the ASH meeting where they said they had seen some complete responses for the first time. That was all I needed to hear. I am not in oncology, but I do know that a CR is the Holy Grail in cancer research. The chance that this ...
