Re: Thoughts on this week's presentation
As we come into ASH, it is worthwhile to listen for the words the FDA loves. One couplet is "disease modification". While we have seen this suggested for MF, other than the emphasis on TI, we have not heard too much about it in MDS. Disease modification via direct proof or via surrogates is woven in...

Thoughts on this week's presentation
Thoughts on this week's presentation in no particular order or organization, in other words if you read this prepare yourself for some chaotic thinking, others are welcome to modify, criticize. 1. We can glean that the marker that allowed for the decision to drop the 4.7 arm was HI (hematologic impr...

Thoughts on a possible late breaker from me on SA
Consider the following: 1. MF trial initial internal reviewed 20 patients in each of one of two arms. Low dose arm terminated at 12 week mark. This translates into 11 doses of Imetelstat. So after 11 doses all patients allowed to transfer to high dose arm which continues. Primary internal pre determ...

Fish two of your abstract links take you to the same article. The link to selective depletion of clonal precursors is not correct. Just a housekeeping issue. Thanks for keep this site current and relevant. bp

Re: I left this on SA board
Fish, its not impossible that we might see early evidence for disease modification (CR/PR) in MDS but I have no idea if bone marrow samples were obtained to look. Probably surrogates will be used for this. Await abstract(s) with interest. bp

I left this on SA board
PTCAs unbridled optimism IS warranted. Here's why. The "changing landscape" is actually changing in our favor. I depart for a moment: I am drinking an extraordinary red so what follows will be flight of ideas. Here are the changes. 1. J and J abandons talaco. 2. The remaining J and J drug for MDS do...

Re: Today's Presentation ~ regarding OS
Ryan, yes, its is clear on the face of it that since there is no control group (would that there were!--we would be done by now), that some other yard stick for efficacy must be utilized and J and J wanted to establish that this mile stone would be survival (OS 7 months in R/R according to this stud...

Re: October 2nd - ASH Abstracts Notification
Actually the date to look forward to is Nov 1st when the abstracts are made public. No comments can be made until after they are presented at ASH in December. We pretty much know that MDS data on the first 30 patients will be presented. Beyond that we have no inkling. I am hoping that Dr. T will upd...

Dear Anna, thank you for your prompt response. Of course what you say about the evolution of treatment represents shifting sands. Nonetheless, Dr. Scarlett, when asked about potential competition in recent conferences has suggested that for MF, no drug besides Imetelstat has been associated with CR/...

Re: Those also serve who sit and wait
Hi Fish, Sargasso, Hoosier 57 et al. It is true on the face of it that the YMB is a shambles, the SA board is poorly organized, has no meaningful screening and has been hijacked by a few incessant posters with repetitive empty posts. The only moderated and consistently intelligent board is here, und...
