Re: Enjoy
Agree, “hemoglobin” is just a number. These docs clearly want their patients to feel better too, not to mention live longer, not just have better labs.

Re: Enjoy
Thanks for posting this RC, it’s not hard to see where this is going. Earlier treatment before transfusion dependence and a better awareness of the role of inflammation impacting concurrent cardiovascular diseases. We have discussed the anti inflammatory effects of Imetelstat several times over the ...

Re: less competition
Hi Ryan, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I also would certainly hope Dr. Steensma would weigh in, in March. He clearly has been pleased with the LR results and was lead author on the JCO article. We have reviewed articles on this board that suggest that LR and HR/MDS are not necessarily different ...

Re: less competition
Interesting. This from the primary author of the PII study in L/R MDS, one so intimately familiar with Imetelstat and of course a world authority on myelodysplastic syndromes. He correctly laments the inability of current treatments to prolong life in HR MDS. Those of us who as non oncologists try t...

I may be naive (oh, really)
I may be naive but I view the upcoming ADCOM meeting as a positive (the market doesn’t seem to). This will provide a forum for not only a transparent review of the data, but an opportunity to hear from, well, just about anyone. You can be sure that list will include patients, their families, physici...

AML study
AML study PII results will probably not be known until a scientific meeting. ASCO is usually May/June and EHA is June 13th. Abstracts public about a month before. EHA very close to PDUFA date. In the meantime a buyout/partnership conceivably could occur. Don’t make fun of me.

Re: March 14th
I too have seen the March date mentioned but only by completely unreliable sources. We did see a KOL lecturer make general mention of an April date for ADCOM but I have seen nothing concrete. As of now until we see something trustworthy, ADCOM will probably be in April with anticipated approval the ...

Re: A new Irish Trader? Hat tip to Paul C
Thanks for posting this RC, definitely a little more detailed and “produced” (music etc.) and a beaming patient who seemed very grateful. Nonetheless devoid of actual detailed patient experience. We still have to wait for that but probably not too much longer. Lots of Cheshire Cat in the Lane group,...

Re: FDA Boxed Warning for CAR-T
Yes FDA watching carefully. This warning for possible T cell cancers. No indication of such for Imetelstat but with such disordered genetics and “selection” of resistant clones in advanced disease you can be sure they will be watching.

Re: Interesting Continuing Education item
You have not taken too many medical tests I guess. When there is no other right answers but enrollment in a trial is an option, that’s usually it. The drug trial is still enrolling and would offer this hypothetical patient the best approach.Totally legit test question.
