Dogone, not to worry, you have not inhaled too much leaked gas. Yes the idea is that conventional chemo kills many cells but some cells appear to be chemo resistant with different CD markers and are considered CSCs (cancer stem cells) as they lead the recurrences back with a vengeance. These cells m...

Important upcoming dates to watch

1. April 17th J and J first quarter release, if Imetelstat is still on list that would be a good thing (that would be an understatement) 2. April 25th ASCO program/abstract release--maybe some insight as to ongoing studies (unlikely) or a glimpse into early preclinical combination studies/AML (more ...

Welcome to Q2

Hello and best wishes for a Happy Passover/Easter season to all. We are now entering Q2. The importance of this quarter and the next need no emphasis but I will summarize what we know will and what I think might happen. We know that the next internal review will occur "before the end" of this quarte...

Re: Repost from SA by biopearl re recent events

Hi jpheis, 1. John’s dose was 7.5. He was not allowed to increase his dose. If I remember correctly it was related to the FDA hold which basically paralyzed Dr. Teferri’s study. John’s amazing wife tried valiantly to get some flexibility in how his treatment was approached but was not successful eit...

Repost from SA by biopearl re recent events

I just put down some thoughts that is a summary of some of the important discussion points that have been raised and examined by multiple posters on SA: First of all I want to start this post by thanking CKTC, HI, AW, Sdraw and especially MTB for helping me have this cathexis (not catharsis). I real...

Another nice summary from Sdraw

Repost from YMB, Sdraw: sdrawkcabeman12 minutes ago Here’s a micro-brief on some of the publications: From the Huff, et al, paper on MM: “Over the course of treatment, the frequency of MM CSCs decreased significantly, on average 2 fold every 30 days.” 100% hematologic response in ET, with 89% CR, dr...

Re: Just saw a reference to a 2017 article in Blood

Yes indeed. If Jak 2 inhibitors encourage clonal drift toward resistant mutations such as the dreaded ASXL-1 mutation then the effects of Imetelstat in the R/R group may be even more profoundly important. bp

Re: Does anyone have any idea how transparent Janssen

Dog--They absolutely do not have to divulge. Scarlett has alluded to an extensive about of preclinical research (also know as skunkworks) that is going on at Janssen we know nothing about. Why tip your hand to the competition? Lots of hints that have open the door to one's imagination, the Yale stud...

Continuation of excellent posts by Sdraw on YMB

Reposted from ymb, Sdraw deconstructs arguments made by presumed short : sdrawkcabeman23 minutes ago (1 of 4 posts) Whyted, thanks for commuting my post to Alpha Exposure(AE). Unfortunately, reading AE’s response, I see he still hasn’t grasped the absurdity of what he wrote. He said, “You seem to ag...

Response to Sargasso (thanks for the great articles)

After reading and thinking about the articles kindly provided by sargasso, even the Harvard Law Review has something to say about market manipulation by short sellers and hedge funds. In this age of big data, bots and fake news the best defense is to be sure we stay well educated and can make decisi...

Re: Concerning anonymous short sellers

Sargasso, thank you for reposting this. I have found virtually all of Sdrawkcabeman's posts to be insightful and informed. Thank you also for sharing the articles that help in understanding the attempts of "shorts" in manipulating markets. We had an up day despite a significant down market. One woul...

In case Sdraw reads this board--repost from SA

Jay, I read every one of Sdraw's posts carefully and slowly. He has really helped me think about the data and structure of the various studies. I hope he reads this board because this question is for him (or anyone else who might be able to respond). I have always been sensitive to the ethics of how...
