Hat tip to jakao YMB for the following link
On YMB jakao a frequent poster and cheerleader for Geron posted a link to an interesting article: "Telomerase inhibitor imetelstat has preclinical activity across the spectrum of non-small cell lung cancer oncogenotypes in a telomere length dependent manner" If you google it, it comes up. Dr. Jerry ...

Re: A dusting of breadcrumbs
Sargasso, I would not look for too much new info at ASCO. First off it is generally a solid tumor meeting with a smaller emphasis on heme. Secondly Dr. T has a poster, not an oral presentation which generally carries less weight and will probably not reveal substantial new info. We might get an upda...

Re: A dusting of breadcrumbs
Dog, the study you reference is the Mayo Pilot study. Many have followed this one closely and hope for an update at ASCO, although Dr. T has only a poster and not an oral presentation, that appears directed more toward the Janssen studies. "John" has been a patient in this trial for years and was do...

A dusting of breadcrumbs
Check out the CT site. Myeloma study now listed as complete as of yesterday with 2 arms, I guess to include those who received lenolitamide. Hope this will result in data for ASH in Dec. bp

Re: "We have gotten positive feedback"
Ok since there were no takers here's what I submitted to the annual meeting (hat tip to hip rock for the email address). I have been a stock holder since the beginning of Geron and am pleased to see the direction and leadership finally provided by Dr. Scarlett. I thank you for the opportunity to ask...

Re: "We have gotten positive feedback"
Good info. Fish you are right, it was the wine speaking (a great bottle of Quintessa). Fish, hip brings up an interesting opportunity namely to submit a question to Dr. S et al.. They will probably screen the questions and be opaque but Fish, would you take the lead and let all submit questions to e...

"We have gotten positive feedback"
I do wish Dr. S would just tell us something substantial. Our CEO toys with us. The "we have gotten positive feedback" comment could mean anything. "We have gotten positive feedback about how nice our staff is or how the protocol is easy to read." No. Dr. S is not a fool. He means to telegraph that ...

Of bread crumbs and myeloma
Annie hi on the ymb recently pointed out that the MM study 2010-2014 from Hopkins and U of Md (13 patients enrolled) was updated in March of this year to reflect the addition of lenolitamide to the imetelstat regimen. I remember reading the summary of the study years ago. It did not rate a presentat...

Re: Mayo Mesa MDS
Scotty, have been away for the last week and just catching up now. Saw your question. Fish gave a very nice response (better than mine would have been!). My take is that site selection is not physician dependent. Little doubt that Dr. T had a lot to do with site selection and by doing so giving vote...

Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium Study
The Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium Study on CT site is now listed as completed. This study is not Geron sponsored and started in 2013. It has been under the radar. If remarkable then I would anticipate presentation at ASCO. Recall that the study was slated to enroll about 90 patients but enrollmen...

Re: GERN buy-out
Hello Sargasso, A Chinese philosopher once said that the only foolish question is the question left unasked. Having said that I will try to respond to your why have I held G for so long under this thread and I hope Fish will be OK even though this is not strictly posted under the correct thread. (Fi...

Re: Shay Wright lab at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
Another thought, this is from Geron's web site: <<Our patent rights relating to imetelstat which have been exclusively licensed to Janssen for all disorders or medical conditions include those covering the nucleic acid sequence of hTR, the RNA component of telomerase, against which the oligonucleoti...

Re: Shay Wright lab at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
Fish, ever notice how we don't know much about Geron's IP? (Paging Hoosier, paging Hoosier). Okarma for what its worth once said something to the effect "If you want to get to telomerase, you have to go through Geron". The secretive nature of Geron needs no elucidation here. If there are other telom...

Sargasso, Fisher responded to your post in a thoughtful, polite and straightforward manner. He is after all the board moderator (and creator) and doing a very fine job of trying to post relevant information and foster interesting and contributory discussions. Why not just graciously take his advice ...

Hoosier has been and insightful and highly contributory poster in the past. He undoubtedly got fed up with YMB. I hope he will share his knowledge and insights here (where they belong--thank you Fish). bp

Use in CLL
Fish, didn't see where you had started new topic but wanted to try to respond to Scotty's question. Long ago in a land far away the early clinical reports of GRN163 in CLL came a a small conference in Maui (not a nationally prestigious conference one might say). The results were highly anticipated a...

Re: Novel Efficient Cell-Penetrating, Peptide-Mediated Strategy for Enhancing Telomerase Inhibitor Oligonucleotides

I was surprised to read that the lipid tail re...

Re: AACR abstracts
I would say no chance. It might happen independently of the AACR meetings and could be coincidental timing only. ASCO in the summer might be a bigger splash. I am hope to get some read on the pediatric consortium study then. Geron has implied AML study by mid year I think. bp
