Re: Imetelstat: The First Disease-Modifying Drug for Myelodysplastic Syndromes?
kara, I think the low valuation is a strong reflection of the disillusionment and disappointment that accompanied the Janssen rejection. Not to mention the litany of failed studies and unfulfilled promises. That ought to do it. To some however that strange sequence of events and marked depression of...

Re: Imetelstat: The First Disease-Modifying Drug for Myelodysplastic Syndromes?
Ryan, thanks for your comments and for the link. It is a very nice summation from EHA. Yes, first in class, new drug should get a little more respect. Your point about waiting three years is an important one and it appears the market is thinking just that. I think those who follow the company such a...

Gwikley, I can offer no counter argument. This has been a terrible investment, but is probably one of the longest surviving independent biotechs and may yet cross the finish line. bp

esf, great thought but there could be no combo therapy trials in patients without FDA approval but there is some likelihood that research continues in the lab with various combination therapies. bp

Re: Clinical Trials MDS site update
MF study also upgraded today to reflect transfer to Geron sponsorship. Also "new" site added which is a little confusing since the study stopped enrolling some time ago. I suspect this addition represents a site contributing Real World Data on a patient(s) only to enhance the "control" arm data. bp

Clinical Trials MDS site update
The clinical trials site has been updated to reflect apparent finalization of study sites and anticipated end of study dates. No surprises yet. If the primary end point is truly 8 weeks of TI (more likely the FDA would be moved by 24 week TI rates), then it seems possible that the data may be presen...

Just for fun while we wait, a repost from SA
Reposted from SA: Here's a long shot. As the final protocol becomes public soon and since we know the PIII design will not change much if at all, this nagging "proprietary" study design hinted at by Scarlett has been tugging at me. Is it possible that there will be a "Secret Third Arm" (in honor of ...

Thoughts re the post EHA reprise
Fellow board members, first off happy fourth of July. I never lose sight of the tremendous opportunities and safety this blessed country has provided me and my family. I am grateful to those who made it happen and keep us safe and strong. I have listened again to the recent Geron presentation and I ...

Re the early Mayo data, my response to a question on YMB
We have talked a lot about the Mayo data in the past and lamented its apparent burial. I think we just have to accept that we will never get a final reckoning. This is a response I posted earlier today in this regard on the YMB: Cathy, The Mayo Clinic data was the first to show actual CRs and PRs. T...

Tues conference
While Geron has been criticized for a meeting to "reprise" already reported data, I think lost in the noise are the words, Key, Opinion and Leaders. Lets hope we can glean more than just the presented data, but also look to these leaders in the field for Key Opinions. Also it has been mentioned else...

Repost of thoughts on SA re Hoosier Investor (HI)
HI, 1. Speaking of slide 9, it appears that 3 of the patients who achieved 24 week TI are no longer on treatment. Could these represent CRs who no longer need treatment (at least up to the point of analysis?). 2. We still don't know if any patients evolved to AML, it would seem especially unlikely f...

EHA
Thanks to all who have posted regarding the recent EHA presentations. The data continues to be impressive. A new class of drug that is accruing considerable supporting data for approval. In MF the MOS now calculated at 33 ! months. In MDS, it appears that responders have ongoing TI median duration o...
