Re: Need an efficient process for obtaining transformative drugs before approval
I had hoped for more inputs on what others have done in efforts to obtain Imetelstat prior to marketing availability or being selected for a clinical study. Based on no other posts, probably means there have been no instances to share or are limited by confidentiality agreements. For what it’s worth...

Re: Pediatric Consortium Study
I do not understand the science or the clinical study process very well. Still, I was wondering if since we are dealing with children in this study, the dosage and frequency appeared very different (assuming due in part to the the toxity, patient size, disease, etc). Could this study then preclude d...

Re: Need an efficient process for obtaining transformative drugs before approval
Here is the thing, has anyone, anywhere been able to work through the maze and obtain Imetelstat or any pre-market approved drug for terminal patients? If there are examples out there that could be shared without violating a confidentiality or some other similar agreement, could they please provide ...

Re: Need an efficient process for obtaining transformative drugs before approval
Right to try laws are a start, but like many things in this effort are "more symbolic than effective" per some news reports. Hopefully that is improving. A few quick reports via Google are: http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2014/11/18/right-to-try-laws-allowing-patients-to-try-experimental-drugs-b...

Re: Need an efficient process for obtaining transformative drugs before approval
Wow, you are amazing Fishermangents! It is impressive that you can pull so much information together from so many sources and put it into something coherent that a person like myself can comprehend. Thank you again for your thoughts and efforts here and doing the heavy lifting on this board. So it w...

Need an efficient process for obtaining transformative drugs before approval
As we continue to learn about the development process / progress on ImetelChat that Geron is struggling through with it’s j”transformative” drug Imetelstat and our own personal difficulties trying to procure the drug as life slipped away, I think and hope there must be more that could be done here. ...

Re: Orphan drug designation
Okay, thanks again for your perspective as it certainly reflects our experience regarding accessibility to the drug outside of a CT. ODD should be considered primarily beneficial to the businesses involved and possibly those participating in related CTs. Others with the disease and not fitting the C...

Re: Orphan drug designation
Thanks Fishermangents for your reply and always very good thoughts, all of which reflect and educate us on the challenges faced by the principals. I would reflect that given we on the outside recognize the awesome capabilities and potential of Imetelstat, how much more might they on the inside know ...

Orphan drug designation
Orphan drug designation I’m sorry about this being so long, edit as necessary if you keep it up. It has been a weighty subject for me for a long time and I suspect many suffering with the diseases of MF and MDS as well. What does ODD really mean and why haven’t we seen more attention on this aspect ...

Re: Of bread crumbs and myeloma
Okay, thank you. Just wasn't looking in the right places or maybe just not paying attention. Interesting reading on the use of these drugs, dosing, combinations, cycles, etc. You probably have seen this but found this interesting: http://www.myelomabeacon.com/news/2014/04/02/revlimid-velcade-dexamet...

Re: Of bread crumbs and myeloma
Was wondering if anyone had listened to the Charlie Rose (Bloomberg) interview of Tom Brokaw (NBC News) last night (5-17-16)? I think he said he suffered from Multiple Myeloma beginning late 2013 and was diagnosed at the Mayo Clinic? Based on his comments, I was wondering what treatment was responsi...

Re: AACR
Thanks Fishermangents for the information and I assume your comments following the three points on the AACR poster presentations. Not being very knowledgeable on the science at this level, I was wondering if you could elaborate on what the on-target mechanisms of Imetelstat are that affect the plate...

Issels blog on imetelstat: Team Finds New Treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML)
I saw a post regarding this web blog today in the Geron YMB, Didn't think there was any news in this info regarding using Imetelstat for AML but maybe I'm missing something. So much going on with Imetelstat in & outside of the US but nothing official on an AML clinical trial, but suspect we are gett...
