Re: Focus on Mechanism of Action

Scarlett at one point said he didn't know where the data for the journal article came from that made this claim and I believe that a Janssen poster at the most recent ASH presented research that debunked this conclusion that Imet doesn't inhibit telomerase. I don't recall which webcast it was but Ch...

Re: AACR2017 abstract: imetelstat combo with venetoclax

Awesome. All of the Presenter/Authors are Janssen employees. Makes it much more significant than just some more university preclinical findings. Janssen is moving the Imet ball down the field nicely. This may be the combo preclinical work that was needed to set up the IND dosing along with the 2Q MF...

Re: Why the AML trial didn't start in 2016

That's for sharing this Fisher. I really appreciate the effort on your part. I do recall that as the year went on Chip was saying that the AML study would be a combo study and they weren't sure what that combo would look like. There was more preclinical work to be done. I began getting vibes mid-yea...

Re: Why I think April is a possibility

Scarlett has made significant money in his previous positions and from what I understand he didn't need to work again. I do recall him discussing whether he should jump back into the mix with Geron. I don't believe he is sitting around so he can collect a paycheck like many on the Yahoo board believ...

Re: Why I think April is a possibility

sargasso, I agree that it seems significant. If Janssen was not going to make a positive continuation decision they wouldn't bother with a data submission which includes all Imet treated patients over the years. I've tried to contemplate why they would do this. Thoughts that come to my mind are: - t...

Re: On line article re radiation and esophageal ca

Having a person like Sergei Gryaznov, who is on Imetelstat patents, working for Janssen gives me a lot of added confidence in Geron eventually getting that $65 mil continuation payment from J&J

Re: Why I think April is a possibility

I did go back and listen to the Q3 CC. Chip said that the decision by Janssen to proceed with Imet in MDS would be decided by 3 factors 1) 2nd Data review of patients in part 1of IMerge in 2Q 2) Data from the Imet program overall 3) "regulatory review" Provided the criteria is met they will proceed ...

Re: Why I think April is a possibility

Sargasso, Thanks for listening again. I can't imagine that they would be talking about putting together a collection of Imetelstat data to present to the FDA if it was negative in any way. If the data did not support going forward I believe Janssen wouldn't be putting together a collection of data t...

Re: luspatercept/Acceleron/Medalist

Fisher, My concern is that often when I hear him in a webcast discussing the MDS trial moving forward he seems to throw in the caveat "if the safety warrants". He doesn't seem to say this about the MF trial. My paranoid side interprets this to mean that perhaps the Imet side affects outweigh the ben...

Re: luspatercept/Acceleron/Medalist

Fisher, If Imetelstat is relegated to be part of a combo therapy with SOC or luspatercept it seems that would reset the approval clock as a new trial would be needed. I hope this isn't the case. But with Scarlett often using the term "if the safety profile warrants" (or something like that) in refer...

Re: luspatercept/Acceleron/Medalist

bp, I share your concerns. The fact that they have incorporated another MDS trial in the slides made me concerned and they continue to emphasize that if the safety profile warrants the trial will transition to phase 3. Scarlet seems to emphasize the "if the safety profile warrants" often when it com...

Re: Reading tea leaves and errors of omission

I don't believe they would have had a problem recruiting newly diagnosed non-JAK patients. Especially with people like Dr. T suggesting that patients should try an experimental drug prior to JAK. It seems to me the current trial was chosen because it's easier and quicker to prove that Imet is better...

Makes sense. Imetelstat will be on the market (hopefully) by 2019 so these patients can continue treatment. This should be good news for irishtrader's husband.

Re: Take away from Stifel

A couple of other points made: -the failure of the 4.7 arm was expected and consistent with what Tefferi observed in the pilot study. -they don't know if 9.4 is the optimal dose but it is considered the max dose because higher doses create a more rapid change in the disease which is not good for the...

Maybe the Ruskies hacked the clinicaltrials website and added the new sites.
